I’ve finished this book, and I have to say it is a good reading, even I think the title should be “Freebsd Rootkits”.
It covers basic of FreeBSD kernel module programming, and while it is a little slow to really enter the real rootkit subject, it was fun to read, and I learned a lot of things.
If you are looking for a book to start studying the Freebsd kernel, go for it, it could be a good introduction.
I just bought the Nmap cookbook and Metasploit : The penetation Tester’s Guide on amazon, stay tuned :)

I got a new toy, a Dream Cheeky USB LED Message Board, so I want to get it work on my favorite operating system.
First I had to write some line of code to control it, but when I looked at libhid, I found a excellent software named dcled, some commits later (Reconize the device, prevent it to be attached by the kernel and import dcled [DO not fail] and depends in our port tree) I got a message from the Aliens :

Thanks to jasper@ for the kernel hint and ports review and ok !
